Recycled flower vase made with plastic can (milk jug)!

Plastic milk jug helps us to make lots of good crafts like different kinds of flowers, flower vase, wall crafts, peacock craft, etc.
This is an another way to make a flower vase with colorful milk jug plastic flowers. For tutorial video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V0kUyDZWxHE. My Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/saranyajocrafts.

Things needed:

Plastic milk jug (or any plastic bottle), Scissors, Marker pen, Dry sticks (dry stems with one or two branches), Tea extract, Acrylic paints or different color nail polishes, Glue gun or instant fix glue, normal glue, etc.

Procedure:

Take a bottle cap around 5 cm in diameter, using that cap, draw a outline circle on the plastic can with erasable marker. It is good, if we draw circles with various sizes.
Cut through the circles to get round plastic pieces.
Put a hole at the center of the round piece.
Draw lines to cut the petals.
Draw the petal shape and cut the extras.

Bend the petals over the backside.
For leaves, draw the outline as in picture.
Cut through the outline.
Take a dry stem, with having one or two branches, and insert the stem through the hole (but the stem should not extrude out).
Using glue gun or instant fix glue, apply over the front side and back side of the center flower, so that it get fixed permanently with the stem. Apply some normal glue at the flower center, and sprinkle tea extract. Fix the leaves with the stem at right places.
Paint the flowers and leaves with acrylic paints or different colored nail polishes.
Do the same, as many as needed.
Take a small paper cup,and paint it with brown color. Fill the cup with play-dough or any flour dough.
Insert the stems one by one and arrange them neatly.
That's all... A very beautiful flower vase or center piece is ready.
Thank You...!

Recycled Milk jug crafts: Zinnia flowers made with plastic milk cans

This is a very easy craft, we can make these flowers easily... For the tutorial video, CLICK here.

Things needed:

Empty milk cans

Scissors, Acrylic paints

Glue gun/Instant glue

Mustard seeds/Large-sized tea powder

News paper, Floral tape

Procedure:

Cut the milk can in three different round shapes. The Diameters of these rounds are mentioned in the picture below.
Draw flower petals on the rounds-cut pieces.
Cut through the petals and take out the extras.
For each flower we need three layers with larger to smaller petals. Fix the petals one over another.
For the center florets, apply glue like small coin, and sprinkle mustard seeds or tea extract on it densely.
For stem, cut the news paper in a rough square, roll it from one side towards its opposite side, and glue the end.

Cut both ends, now we get a stiff paper stick.

Apply glue, and fix the stick with the lower center of the flower. Cut leaves and fix with stem.
Paint the flower with suitable color.
For stamen give a little yellow color on over the seeds.
Make 5-8 flowers and insert them in a glass jar painted, and decorated with stones.
Now we can get a beautiful zinnia flowers with different colors.

Coconut shell flower vase decorated with news paper beads

We can reuse the coconut shell to make a lot of diy crafts like decorated umbrella, candle holder, flower vase etc... In this post, we are going to see the making of Coconut shell flower vase decorated with news paper beads. This flower vase look so good with lotus flowers. We can see the method of making now. If you want to see this craft tutorial video, CLICK here.

Materials needed:

*Coconut shell (please try to open (break) the whole coconut with one side bigger (3/4 th) and one side smaller (1/4 th) which I couldn't make out perfect :-( )
       *News papers
*Glue gun or instant glue (normal glue cannot be used to fix newspaper beads with the shell.
*Bottle cap (like BRU coffee bottle cap with octagon shape)
*Acrylic or oil paints (Oil paints take long time to dry)
       *Beads/color stones/pipe cleaner/small paper flowers/grains - for decorative purposes
                                                             *Scissors

Method:

Fold and tear the news papers into small square shapes.
Roll each square-cut papers by holding one end and rolling through the inner side to get paper strips.
Stick the last end of the paper with strip using glue.
Make strips 50-70 in numbers (depending upon the strip length and coconut shell's size). With each strip, hold and fold one end of the strip to get round beads. Fix the end using glue. Now we have 50-70 beads with roughly round shapes.
Take an octagonal shaped BRU instant coffee bottle cap (if available, or else any bottle cap with flat surface.) and fix the inner side with the bottom of the coconut shell using hot glue gun.
Fix paper beads one by one either from the upper side or bottom side of the coconut shell, closely and compactly.
Paint the inner side of the shell with complete black to hide the shell color.
Paint the beads with colors of your choice using acrylic paints.
After the paint dries perfectly, we can either simply use this as flower vase or we can decorate further with beads and color stones or whatever we have at home.
I have decorated with color stones, beads and pipe cleaners.

That's all... A very beautiful and creative flower vase is ready!
I accept that it takes time to make beads in large numbers, but when you finish this project, you seriously would not believe this is made with simple papers and coconut shell.
